Parsons Cemetery is in Lake Prairie Townshp Section 12 Township 75 Range 18. It is at the end of the road at 1429 250th Avenue, a half mile south of Lucas Drive. The parcel number is 1211300000.

 

 

This cemetery adjoins the

Mahaska County line on

the east side. There are three

section 12's in Lake Prairie

Township; this one is the

farthest south. This is a

distinctive plot in a pasture

on a ridge 100 feet through

the yard of this farm. There

is a beautiful view of the

Des Moines River to the south.

Large limestone blocks three layers high have been laid in a square to surround a newer cylindrical stone, probably set by the previous owner, De Hamer, by which this cemetery is also known.
